Q: Do I have to pay to watch any FD broadcasts now?
A: No. Everything is still free
Q: I watch on Youtube, does anything change for me?
A: You can keep watching on Youtube, just like usual. The only exceptions are RACER’s live show, GRIDWALK and Top 16 (PRO)
Q: How do I watch Gridwalk and/or the Top 16 (PRO)?
A: You can either watch directly from the RACER+ App or on the RACER Network on cable. FD will also embed the RACER+ App player into our new website when that launches, probably by Road Atlanta.
Q: Where can I get the RACER+ App?
A: You can download it from any of the app stores (iOS/Android) or the RACER website for free, just like any other app
Q: Do you mean I can watch FD and for free as I have watched it in the past, whether from my phone, computer, connected TV, AppleTV, Amazon Fire, Google Chromecast, etc?
A: Yes, everything is still free, nothing changes. The only real change is that FD can be viewed in more places and we are being supported by the largest motor sports media company in North America.
Q: What is RACER Select?
A: RACER Select is the RACER Channel on connected devices from Samsung, LG, Vizio, Ruko and many others and makes RACER and thus FD live more available than the entire cable industry as a whole. RACER Select is a native program channel on 400M devices in the US and Canada.
Q: What should I watch on RACER Select?
A: It’s your choice. RACER Select will carry Qualifying, Seeding, Top 32 (both Series) and Top 16 (PS). You can also keep watching on YouTube or RACER+ App. RACER Select is a viewing option, but it is not the only one and it’s important that FD get coverage in all the places that RACER covers
Q: Does any of this cost me anything?
A: Nope. Everything is still free as usual.
Q: RACER+ App has a subscription feature. What should I know about it?
A: RACER+ subscriptions comes with deeper offerings, like other motor sport broadcasts from around the world, exclusive content and experiential offerings, just in the same way that ESPN+ has a free section and a subscription section. Our hope is that we can make people aware of the great content programming RACER has and at the same time, make FD live content more readily available than ever. RACER and FD have big plans as we develop our working relationship.
Q: So, what’s the key takeaway from all of this?
A: The key takeaway is that FD is growing and attracting a great broadcast partner. Thanks to RACER, they are partnering with us to keep all the broadcasts FREE! RACER is also investing into the sport by creating new live shows, exclusive content and driver incentive programs that will continue to build and drive the sport. There will be lots more to come and we could not be more excited to to partner with RACER to show our value and make a difference in motor sports that really counts in propelling the sport.
