In Formula Drift Japan, he has driven for GOODRIDE MOTORSPORTS (with EVANGELION RACING), piloting cars such as the GR Yaris and ZN8 GR86
2025 Jerry Yang Racing invited Wataru Masuyama to finish the remaining 3 rounds in Formula Drift USA where he adapted quickly to a new car and achieved his career best with a 8th-place finish in Seattle.
2026 Wataru looks forward to having a full season of Formula Drift USA and will also compete in FD Japan.
