Patrick Mordaunt began his involvement with Drifting at age 12, spurred on by friends who were interested in the sport. He began attending events, meeting drivers and helping out at neighborhood drift meets and practice days. At age 14, Patrick got a 1985 Corolla GTS and started drifting at local amateur events, such as JustDrift! and Drift Day.
Over time, he built up the Corolla and started competing at a higher level of competition in the Top Drift and Drift Buffet series, culminating in his first trip to the ProAm national Championship in Laughlin, NV, in November of 2006. Although he did not qualify in that event, Patrick came back strong in 2007, doing well in Drift Buffet, Top Drift and Drift Day competitions.
He moved up to a higher power platform, trading in the Corolla for a 1998 Nissan 240sx In November 2007, Patrick qualified first in the Formula Drift licensing event at Laughlin and finished 4th overall to get his Formula Drift license. Now with 3 full years of Formula D behind his belt, Patrick is looking to come out strong in the 2011 season and prove that he's a force to be reckoned with.
