Truth be told, he first became interested in drifting from watching Initial-D! He met Luke Lonberger in 2008 and Luke persuaded Gabe to go to his first track event at Thunderhill. Since then he’s been hooked on drifting and continually helping the Blu808 team. Gabe developed his skills by competing in ThunderDrift’s skid pad competition series in 2009. He continued to test himself further by competing in the 2010 TD ProAm series. Gabe also became more involved in the drift community by judging ThunderDrift’s SuperAm competitions and was an instructor of NorCal Drift Academy in 2011. Gabe finished 2nd overall in the 2011 TD ProAm series with a LS1 swapped in his 1989 Camaro by Blu808 and earned a license for the 2012 Formula Drift season. Gabe made a big change for 2012 by switching to the BMW E36 platform and competed in the 2012 Formula Drift Pro Championship in his Blu808 E36. His rookie season in Formula Drift has been a development process as he has been fine tuning the chassis and learning the courses on the pro circuit. He has continued testing the chassis setup in the off-season and will be putting the experience he has gained toward success in the Formula Drift 2013 Pro Championship!
